Well, my capstone project is all but done. So I will be blogging more. While my brain recovers from that project, here is a screen shot I took recently.

To Create a World

Recently I have had some ideas floating around about a new world, with its own history, geography, people, religion etc. To help develop this idea I will occasionally post here discussing different aspects of this world as I develop it.

As far as the overall view of the world I see it as an alternate history of earth where magic more or less takes the place of technology. The history of this world is defined by ages, which they them selves are defined by specific events. As I see it, the current age, or the Age of Kings is coming to a close. This age was preceded by a Dark Age where all accounts of the previous age were lost to legend and history during this time was not recorded.

I don't have a lot defined yet... Not even a name... Hopefully in the coming weeks I will have a chance to flesh the world out a bit more. If I have enough, I may even change my NaNoWriMo attempt to a story set here instead of my original idea of telling about Tas' past.

So I am attempting NaNoWriMo

So I'm going to attempt to write 50,000 words in a month, starting November 1st... Probably won't succeed, but should at least provide a few good posts here... I am going to write a story about Taseli... Not sure what the plot will be yet, but I still have weeks to set my general direction.

This will be interesting considering it is also a busy semester at school.

The Social Factor of WoW

Through Too Many Annas I was directed to a post by fellow blogger Leafy on WoW as a social environment. In it, Leafy discusses how WoW has become more than a game, but also another place to hang out with friends.

As a roleplayer, I mainly log on now to chat and roleplay with the friends I have made in game. It has become a second social life for me, the first being the one I have with my real life friends. While I have never met any of the people I play with in real life, I have gotten to know a few of them fairly well. The friendships I have with these individuals are ones that will probably persist even after I or they leave the game. Who knows, maybe I will get the opportunity to meet them in person as well.

I think for many people I know in game, mostly roleplayers mind you, the social interaction is what keeps them logging in. As such, I will probably continue to play this game in some capacity until my friends all decide to leave the game.

I have internets again

Well, Comcast finally came by to hook me up. I hope to get something out in the next few days. Maybe another Friday Five post tomorrow if Anna does another IC one. If not... I'll come up with something.

I have a blog now

So... After reading other WoW blogs, I decided to get in on the show as well. As you can guess from my title, my primary characters are two gnomes and an elf.

I am a roleplayer. I do not raid except for a bi-weekly Kara run. I guess I mean to say that this blog won't be covering raid strategy etc... What I will cover are my experiences as a roleplayer, perhaps a few IC stories here and there, though I am a horrible writer. I may post a few tips for leveling and general class play from time to time. I may even talk about non WoW related things.

I guess my goal with this blog is to have fun and an outlet for my random musings. I do, however, intend to update once a week or so.
